Dear Dr. Leone,

I am 59 years old, and was living an active life. I began to have right leg pain a few years ago leaving me sedentary. I did not know how I was going to live the rest of my life being inactive and in pain. So, as soon as my previous doctor diagnosed my problem as avascular necrosis (my femoral head was cracked and collapsing), he recommended I seek a surgeon with more expertise than he to perform a total hip replacement.

I sought out some recommendations, which brought me to you. Even though I had confidence going in, I could not have dreamed of a better outcome. I recovered quickly, going back to work in 3 weeks, then cautiously started back with activities.

The professionalism and caring from you and your staff helped tremendously going through the process. Actually, I’ve never encountered a medical staff even close to the quality of yours.

It is now a year since you performed my right hip replacement. I am back to living a pain-free active life again, thanks to you. I feel like I’m on top of the world, as shown in the attached photo where I was hiking in Dinosaur National Monument in Utah this past summer. I’m playing golf, bicycling, walking, swimming, etc.

You Gave Me Back My Life!

Thank you again,

Lawrence W. Feller

I began experiencing pain in my knee that was radiating towards my hip. This was reminiscent of pain I had several years prior. This pain was treated with a knee arthroscopic surgery. With that experience I suspected I had somehow re-injured my knee. I saw a physical therapist but therapy made it worse. Progressively the pain increased and I was loosing mobility. It reached a point where I could not longer bend to put on my own sock or cross my legs. I was scared because the limp was aggravating my back and neck. I’ve been a manager of Human Services with the US Postal Service for 30 years I was finding it painful just to sit a my desk. Getting up was terrible and embarrassing. My last straw was feeling chronically tired because if I moved in my sleep pain would awaken me.
