Dr. William Leone has cared for literally thousands of patients during his 20 years of practice as an orthopedic surgeon at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Expert in the very latest orthopedic technologies, he prides himself on solving complex hip and knee problems, and is gratified by the profound positive effect that his interventions have had on the lives of his patients.
Dr. Leone is the inventor of the Pelvic Alignment Level (PAL), a device that allows surgeons to achieve a greater level of implant precision when performing total hip replacements, and has been involved in the clinical trials and review of new orthopedic techniques and equipment. He has taken an active role as chairperson and faculty at symposiums that provide continuing medical education for hip and knee surgeons in both the United States and Europe.
Dr. Leone graduated from the University of South Florida, Magnum Cum Laude, and Emory University School of Medicine. During his residency with the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami, he was named resident of the year in 1986. In 2000, he was recognized by the Arthritis Foundation as Doctor of the Year. Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health care research firm named Dr. Leone one of Florida’s “Top Orthopedic Surgeon” for 2010 and 2011.
