Dr. William Leone has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s top orthopedic surgeons. He is a key part of the leadership team that has garnered Holy Cross Hospital numerous awards and honors, including HealthGrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award™ and a Five Star Rating for Overall Orthopedic Services. In 2008 & 2009, Holy Cross Hospital was ranked by US News and World Report as the top orthopedic health care provider in Florida.
Dr. Leone’s dedication to his practice has led to a new model for orthopedic care—one that combines specialized surgical interventions with a high level of personal attention. Dr. Leone has designed this model to maximize patient-doctor communication and reduce the anxiety, fear and pain too often associated with medical conditions and treatment.
From the moment patients make their first appointment, through surgery and rehabilitation, they are treated with compassion and their concerns are a priority. Appointments take place when scheduled. And arrangements for everything from private rooms to VIP meals to extra night’s stays are easily made. Central to our model is providing consistently excellent surgical outcomes while prioritizing our patients’ peace-of-mind, respecting their time and their dignity.
One way Dr. Leone has been able to achieve these results is by opting out of the Medicare system—a difficult decision, but one that many of the country’s top physicians have decided is well worth it. Freed of Medicare’s rules and coverage constraints, his patients have more options for their treatment and recovery. Patients will pay a fee for the actual surgery but the ancillary costs of their pre-surgical treatment, hospital stay and post-surgery rehabilitation and equipment are still covered by Medicare and other insurers.

I was being plagued with back, leg, and hip pain for years and finally decided to see a "top notch" orthopedic sports doctor. Dr. William Leone examined my hip and took X-rays. I could see that the bones that make up my hip joint were rubbing together. I've played top-level competitive tennis for many years. When my hip first started to hurt, the pain would go away after warm up.
